Eddie Dervish

Partner. Eddie has been with the firm since 1988 and has been a partner since 1995. Eddie has a wide client base of UK and international clients consisting of both individual and corporate clients. Areas of speciality are civil/commercial litigation, Landlord and Tenant, commercial/residential conveyancing and company work. Eddie has four reported cases, details of which are contained in the press/links page.

Enis Rifat

Enis joined the firm on the 01st October 2010 as a partner. Enis was a long standing partner in the firm of Pollards established in 1958. From 2006 he continued to practice as a sole practitioner under the name of Pollards in North London being a branch of the original firm of Pollards which he set up and managed.Enis built up and managed the litigation department, and over the years he acquired a wide client base of both commercial and private clients. Enis's expertise in civil litigation, employment, Matrimonial, and Personal Injury, as well as being an experienced practitioner in Immigration and Nationality Law, enables the firm to cover a more diverse field of litigation.

Aliosman Halil

Aliosman studied law at Kingston University before undertaking the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law and qualifying as a solicitor in 2005. Aliosman deals with all aspects of residential property law, commercial property law and Wills and probate. Aliosman's client base consists of a number of companies as well as private individuals. He joined the firm in 2009 and became a partner on the 01st October 2010. He is also the firm's Money Laundering Officer.

Michelle Brown
 |
Michelle joined our firm in 1999 as a trainee solicitor and qualified in 2001. She specialises in civil litigation, property litigation, landlord and tenant and insurance litigation. Michelle left the firm 2003 and worked with a number of other north London and Hertfordshire firms before returning to Hugh-Jones & Co as a consultant in 2007. Michelle has a 2:1 LLB honours degree and completed the legal practice course at London Guildhall University with a commendation and with distinctions in advocacy, corporate governance, civil litigation and commercial property. Prior to attending university, Michelle worked for three years as an assistant underwriter at Lloyds. Michelle speaks fluent Italian and conversational Spanish and French.

Nigel King
 |
Nigel bought the firm in 1976 and remained at the helm until his retiremnet on the 01st October 2010. During his long expanding career in Law, most of which was spent at Hugh-Jones & Co, Nigel became well known in the locality as an astute commercial lawyer, where he was respected and admired as an honest forthright individual.
Although now retired and non-practicing Nigel remains as an invaluable source of knowledge and information for the members of the firm as a consultant.

Nick Del-Vecchio

Legal Executive. Nick is a fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and specialises exclusively in civil litigation. Nick has been with the firm since 2003. He speaks fluent Italian.

Elaine Willmont
 |
Elaine has been with the firm since 1996. Elaine is our appointed CQS Manager. One of Elaine’s most important roles is to monitor conveyancing files and work closely with our property department’s fee earners to ensure that conveyancing files are dealt with efficiently and competently. Elaine also assists with the general administrative management of the firm.

Sarah Sawyer

Sarah is personal assistant to Eddie Dervish and has been with us since 1997. Sarah is also the firm’s Licensing Executive and undertakes all types of licensing work.

Birshen Aktan
 |
Birshen is an experienced senior legal secretary who has recently undertaken and completed (2011) the Licensed Conveyancing Course and passed her final exams with merit. Birshen has been with the firm since 2000. She is now a qualified Licensed Conveyancer.

Samantha Philippou
 |
Sam works closely with the litigation team as our costs clerk. Sam is responsible for uploading time sheets on the firms costing systems and ensuring that files are properly documented. Sam is also a part time receptionist and office administrator.

Liz Dimler
 |
Liz is an experienced conveyancing senior secretary who assists Ali Halil and Birshen Aktan. Liz has been with the firm since 2010.

Yeliz Latif
 |
Yeliz is personal assistant to Enis Rifat and joined the firm on the 2nd February 2011. Yeliz graduated from the University of Greenwich with a BA (Hons) degree in Philosophy in 2009 and has over 8 years’ experience as personal assistant to Enis before he joined this firm.
